Apple plans to use hydrogen in the batteries in order to increase the amount of electricity it can hold. Its estimated to be able to hold a charge for several weeks.
Using hydrogen based batteries will help us get rid of our current bulky ones and also will be better for the environment by replacing the toxic chemicals they use now, with hydrogen.
‘Such fuel cells and associated fuels can potentially achieve high volumetric and gravimetric energy densities, which can potentially enable continued operation of portable electronic devices for days or even weeks without refueling,’ the filings report.
