Man Wins Lamborghini

A man from Utah had won a $350,000 Lamborghini Murcielago from a local convenience store contest, but his excitement ended when he crashed the car after just 6 hours.

Dopp took the Lamborghini for a ride and hit a patch of black ice at a turn going about 40 – 50 mph and spun out of control and damaged the rear of the vehicle.

Dopp plans to fix the Lamborghini and sell it and buy a car for his wife. Dopp paid $3,500 to insure the car for six months, and his down payment for the repairs was $1,000. According to Dopp, the car is on its way to Vegas for repairs.

Dopp won the 2008 Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 on Nov. 12 at LaVell Edwards Stadium during Maverik’s “Joe Schmo to Lambo” contest. According to a spokesperson, the Lamborghini is worth more than $350,000 and its 640-horse powered engine can go from 0 to 60 in 3.4 seconds.

Most Expensive Model Car, Cost 12 Times More than Real Car

A model maker in Germany named Robery Gülpen has built the most expensive car model in the world – a 1:8 scale replica of the Lamborghini Aventador made out of carbon, platinum gold and decorated with precious stones.

Gülpen started making miniature car models from precious metals in the late 1990s and eventually became a renown miniature car model maker. Gülpen was interested in building models and wanted to do something no one has ever done before.

He decided that the Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 would be the perfect choice for his greatest masterpiece. The body of the car is made from carbon, just like the original, and features around €2 million-worth of precious metals and stones. Metal was used for the detailed rims and diamonds were inserted into the seats, steering wheel and headlights.

The car took approximately 500 hours to be completed.

His little Lamborghini Aventador is scheduled to be auctioned off in December, by Sotheby’s, in either Dubai or New York, with a starting price of €3.5 million, nearly 12 times more than a real Aventador LP 700-4 (€303,450). But, if a buyer doesn’t feel like waiting until then, they can pay €4.5 million and take home the car.
